Last night in Karlsruhe the show was amazing. It just exceeded my expectations... They played in a small indoor arena in front of 7000 people. The show was way more intense than the one in Butzbach (which was great). Although I was second row and not 1st row like in Butzbach, I was much closer to the stage... The boys appeared to be really in the right mood and were just perfect. The setlist was balanced and very tight. They opened with Train and they added Janie's got a gun. They played again SOS too bad that sounds great live. Like in Butzabach the boys really seemed to enjoy playing in front of a European audience. They jammed and they improvised a lot comparing to Butzbach. Especially Joe, who really looked motivated to prove he's still one the best rock guitarists in the history of music. I was very inspired. Steven was really hyperactive and didn't stop for one second. Brad, Tom and Joey also seemed to be as in the right mood. I was really surprised, my impression was that yesterday show was a genuine Aerosmith show without too many special effects... It was just them, the music and the audience., like in the early days.. And by the way even the sound quality in the venue was beyond expectations. It was clear and rough at the same time. Apparently, the PA system was different... I really enjoyed the Karlsruhe concert. The highlight was when Steven took my AeroItalian flag. I sung with it for about 3-4 minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get it back despite my efforts at the end of the show. But it was lost on the battlefield and it served its purpose. It's a shame I couldn't get back some of Steven's sweat.... Anyway, here's some photos of this memorable show...

What a show!! Draw the line was the highlight of the show. SOS was a pleasant surprise. Soon other thoughts about the first concert.

Today was a fruitful and pleasant day. I walked a lot in the old town, I went for shopping and, most importantly, I managed to meet the four real hard core Italian fans who have been going to concerts across the globe in the last few years. I had met these guys a couple of months ago in London for the official announcement of the 2007 European Tour and I've known the "leader" since 1997. These guys rock!!! And they work like professional fans!! They have reaped the results of such hard work by getting in a very special and privileged friendship relationship with Steven himself!!! We went for dinner together and we talked about the present, the past and the future of Aerosmith and Aerosmith fans. Anyway, tomorrow there will be the first concert of my personal tour! BUTZBACH!!

I leave for the airport in the morning around 11am. I've had mixed feelings about my European tour in the past 24 hours. I feel anxious, for no apparent reason.... My dear friend and faithful concert companion Stefano drives me to the Pescara airport. We try to catch up on what happened in our lives in the last few months. He's not coming with me this time. This time is going to be a private "spiritual" experience, a 21st century modern form of religious pilgrimage. So many memories.. expectations...hopes... We land in Frankfurt 20 minutes earlier than expected at 2.50. It's hot. Hotter than Italy. Apparently, they say it'll be hotter in the next few days... The trip on the bus reminds me of the last time I went to Frankfurt, in 2002... That time it was for a basketball game... According to the time schedule I'll be in Kaiserstrasse in about 75 minutes... Ironically, it's in the heart of the red light district...
